Today is SETTLEMENT!

Yes! Today is the day I settle on the house, my house!  The excitement has finally hit me! All the worry about is this really going to go through?!, can I really do this?! has faded into the back and now I am ready to sign the papers and become a home owner!! 

The past few days I have been going over pictures that are still posted online of the house to try and get ideas of what to do to each room.  My first task at hand will of course be to clean each room and then comes painting!  I have no clue what colors I will do where yet but I'm excited about the entire process!!

Signing away my life...and my savings!

In just one week I will be sitting down in an office, signing paperwork and handing over a hefty check all in order to become a HOME OWNER.  I'm excited.  No really, I am.  The thought of having my own home, a place to go after work, kick off my shoes and just veg out in, is quite appealing. Having a home to invite family and friends to for the holiday's or just whenever I want to see their funny familar faces will be joyous.  I am looking forward to all the fun of being a homeowner and even learning how to deal with the uh-oh's that are to come with it.  So why aren't I jumping up and down and screaming like a giddy school girl that just caught a glimpse of Johnny Depp (yeah, dating myself)?!  I have no idea! 

Perhaps I have become emotionally inept or maybe it just hasn't hit me yet.  I just feel as though everyone around me is WAY more excited than I am about this, well way more outwardly excited.  Although maybe it's just with everything else weighing on my mind these days my home owner excitedness has been pushed to the back burner.  You know, that back burner that only occasionally lights after a few tries.  Eh, who the hell knows.  I should have followed my Professors advice in college and taken more psychiatry classes and then I'd have a glimpse into the unknown.  Ha. Riiiight. ;o)

I'm sure once I have the key in hand and am out with Hunter picking out paint colors and furniture all the excitement will rush to my brain letting out a huge "Yippee, we're going to Disney World!" or something like that!

Anywho, other things on my mind include... my son is growing too quickly, an email I received this morning from Ken Baumann letting me know he will be shipping me out a copy of The Complete Works of Marvin K Mooney (sooo excited about this book), 2 minutes til lunch, the multitude of paint colors and the odd names they have, a migraine, tomorrow is Friday, will the jerk arrive on Sunday, I need coffee, will I hit the lotto, vacation would be nice, when will they finish knocking down the connecting building and will we topple down before that happens, work piled on my desk would look better placed in a folder in the recycling bin, I hope that my friend Kelly is doing okay after losing her friend, tomorrow Sprint is going to wish they would have closed early when I get there, and finally I'm sick of hearing about raising the damn debt....why in all things donkey related would that be a good idea.  If we can't get out of the debt we are in now, why raise it so we can go further in debt??!!  Helloooo, how about ya stop spending copious amounts of money on bs and learn how to budget!  Ugh...and that's my mini rant for the day.  What's yours?!

It's Friday!!

Finally, an ending to this short work week!

This morning upon chatting with some friends about google search I decided to do a search on myself.  To my surprise I found a few images of mine listed.  I went through to each picture of myself and clicked to find out where it was leaked from, since my facebook is set to super private I was a bit nervous. 

I first clicked on a picture of myself with Hunter.  It took me to some creepy site called peek at you or peeking at you...whatever it's called, it sounds like it's for creepers.  Anywho, on this site it listed my current location, locations I used to live, my email and my online alias!!! I couldn't believe it.  All of this information just out and about for anyone to read.  Now, it probably wouldn't have pissed me off so much if it were just a picture of myself up but since my son was included in the picture...well you can guess what sort of thoughts went through my mind. Sooo, I proceeded to call and email this site in order to get my information off of it asap.  They of course agreed to take it down and blah, blah but you can be sure I will be checking on it frequently.

Now onto the 2nd photo, a photo that lead to a nice surprise.  I noticed a picture I took while at the Washington DC Zoo on Hunter's birthday.  The pic was of the new female tiger, Damai, looking directly at me from her enclosure.  I was excited to get such a great picture so I went ahead and posted it onto the Zoo's fb page.  I didn't really get much feedback from the site, so just forgot about posting it there...until today.  I opened the link from google search and there was my picture beside a post in the Washington DC National Examiner!!! I was so excited to see that my picture was used in a well read site and also that I was given credit for taking the picture, ha.  It sort of felt like when I was in school and the teacher chose my project to display in front of the class because it was the most creative or well written, what have ya.  It felt awesome! Ha, and of course I had to hurry and tell my parents, family and friends (yes, I'm a dork. I'm okay with it.).  Below is a glimpse of my "famous" picture! Ha.

In the afternoon I had to travel down to the main hospital at lunch becuase I put off getting my ID card replaced yesterday in order to fool around on the computer.  After almost dieing, a few times, on the shuttle ride downtown I met up with my cuzzo for some grub.  Yes, I did say that I was going downtown for a new ID card but what did you expect, that I would go without eating?! Pffft!  Anyways, while we were chowing down and talking with our mouths full, I noticed a hottie sitting to the right of us.  Of course he was leaving when I noticed him but no worries there, it was niiiicccceee to watch him leave, if you get what I mean! Wink, wink!!  I had this moment of "should I run out and track him down" but then it was quickly overpowered by my "I'm still hungry and probably have food in my teeth" thought. So, I will just hope that on another venture downtown I will run into him, literally, hehe.  After our lunch and my daydreaming was over I rounded the corner to grab my new ID badge and headed for a death shuttle to take me back to work. 

Now as I glance at the clock I realize I need to end this blog because in 1 minute I will be closing up shop and walking out the door to begin my weekend!  I don't have anything planned for this weekend, so we will see what goodies I have to blog about on Monday.

Like Whoa

Yikes! So it seems I have been neglecting my blog already but it's okay since the past few days have been running into each other.  Sort of feels like I lay my head down on my pillow, blink and the dang alarm is screeching it's joyous tune.

Anyway, let's see...over the holiday weekend I went to a couple cookouts, relaxed in the sun, went to a local fair and hung out with family.  Normally when it comes to family related get togethers I would have some crazy story about this, that and the other but either my family is becoming more socially normal or I just didn't stay long enough! I'm going to take a guess here and say I just didn't stay long enough, ha. 

The fair on the other hand, you can walk in and right back out and you will have numerous stories to tell.  It starts with the 20 minutes of circling parking lots and nearby streets to find a parking spot.  The feeling of "Oooh, there's a spot" only to pull up and find some rinky dink, sorry excuse for a vehicle parked there or better yet, an elderly woman with her walker standing in the spot saving it for chuck or chip, whatever the kids name was that clearly pushed her out of the car...I mean c'mon, when did Grandma become a space holder?!  Though I suppose I'm not much better since when I finally found a spot it was one I snaked as an old man pulled away from his house...ha, whoops! Then upon entering the fair you walk past the "beer garden" and I will let your own mind ponder about what you might find in there, but I will add that I arrived at the fair around 7pm so at this point most of those people had been in there drinking alllll day. ;o)  I don't want to entirely blog about the fair so I will sum it up: half dressed drunks walking around attemping to sing along to Eddie Monie as the speakers squeal along with their voices, babies that look like they just left the canal being passed hand to hand in the fog of smoke, rusted rides that should be retired along with the operators, and glorious fair food drenched in whatever goodness you choose.  Nothing beats local fairs! 

The rest of my week has been a tad dull compared to my visit to the fair but thankfully it's only a 4 day work week.  I've drank numerous cups of coffee, typed up and read more emails than one should, goofed off online during work hours, re-lost a friend over them being pathetic, scheduled my house inspection so that I can figure out how dirty my hands are going to get prior to settlement, scratched my head (no, not lice, just dry), rethought my supermom theory and then decided "nope, I'm still kickass", woke up on Thursday thinking it was Friday...major bummer, and now am about to travel downtown to get a new plastic square that gives me access to my building, my floor, my office and most importantly the lunch room because the one I currently wear around my neck pooped out on me. Yeppers, my week so far in a nutshell.  Okay, I left a few things out but no worries, I'm sure I'll share those stories down the line. :o)

For now I am off to answer more emails and watch the clock tick slowly as it creeps to 4:30. 

(ps. there was something else I wanted to write but I've been interupted so many times while writing that I lost it somewhere in this jumbled head of mine...keep a watch out for a random blog if I ever remember.)

New At This

Hello out there, if there is anyone even reading this! I've been told for a while that I should start a blog but always wondered why anyone would really care to read what goes on inside my crazy mind or happens in my crazy life.  Now you are probably asking yourself, then why start one now?!  Simply because, I feel like I could help make the world a better place...ha, not really, I'm just bored and need something to make the work day go by quicker.

So here begins my baby steps into the world of blogging.

If you've read my 'about me' you know that I am a 26yr old single mother to a 1yr old son, Hunter.  Even after a year I still look at him somedays and think "wow, this is my child?!".  Mainly I think that on days when he is whining like a little girl and clinging to my leg like if he lets go he will fall into a deep, dark hole... ;o)  Ha, Hunter really though is a great kiddo and I'm stoked I get to be his mother, even if it sometimes scares the poop out of me. 

Currently I am living at my father's house which has been a godsend and also hellish at times BUT as of July 28th, I will officially become a homeowner!!! I have been saving up and searching (searching is godawful) for a little piece of land to call my own and finally, after 2 rejected offers, have been accepted!  I'm excited to be moving out and am even more excited to fix the place up and really make it My Home.  Although I am nervous about the bills and house repairs, all that comes with being a homeowner...I know that I will make it work, there is no doubt in my mind.  After all I am a SuperMom.  If you didn't know SuperMom's have the power to change diapers faster than a speeding bullet, leap over toy piles in a single bound, strength to balance kiddos while cooking a full course meal, and an intuition that beats out xray vision any day.  So with all this power why would I doubt?!

Well I could go on and write a book but then I wouldn't really be blogging, I'd be booking, so I will end on this note: It's FRIDAY!!! The plan for this 3day weekend is fairs, cookouts, sun bathing, food and fireworks! Pure Awsomeness!
